Short Fiber Needle-Punched Nonwoven Geotextile

Polyester nonwoven geotextile for separation, filtration, drainage and reinforcement in civil engineering applications.

Manufactured from PET short fibers by needle punching, this nonwoven geotextile is available in a wide range of mass-per-unit-area specifications for infrastructure, drainage and ground-engineering projects.

Product Overview

Short fiber needle-punched nonwoven geotextile is a permeable geosynthetic material manufactured from PET fibers using a needle-punching process. It is used where separation, filtration, drainage or reinforcement functions are required between soil, aggregate and other construction materials.

Typical applications include highways, railways, dams, drainage systems and other civil-engineering works requiring filtration, separation, drainage or ground reinforcement.

Key Features

Permeable structure

The nonwoven structure allows water to pass through the material while supporting filtration and drainage functions.

Separation function

Used between adjacent soil or aggregate layers to help limit material mixing.

Filtration performance

Specified equivalent-opening-size and vertical-permeability requirements support filtration applications.

Mechanical performance

Breaking strength, bursting strength and tearing-strength requirements are defined according to the selected nominal specification.

Material resistance

The technical specification includes reference requirements for acid and alkali resistance, oxidation resistance and UV resistance.

Technical Notes

  1. For specifications between adjacent values listed in the table, the corresponding assessment indicators are calculated by linear interpolation. For specifications outside the listed range, assessment requirements are agreed between supplier and customer.
  2. Requirements for mass-per-unit-area deviation, width deviation and thickness deviation are determined according to the project design or agreement.
  3. Tearing strength, acid and alkali resistance, oxidation resistance and UV resistance are reference indicators used for production control. Where specifically required by the customer, acceptance criteria are based on the agreed project requirements.
