Uniaxially Stretched Plastic Geogrid

High-strength polypropylene geogrid for soft-ground improvement, embankment reinforcement and other civil-engineering applications.

Uniaxially stretched plastic geogrid provides high tensile strength in the principal reinforcement direction for transportation infrastructure, embankments and ground-stabilization works.

Product Overview

Uniaxially stretched plastic geogrid is a polypropylene reinforcement geosynthetic designed to provide high tensile strength in one principal direction. Its tensile and low-strain performance is specified across several product grades for reinforcement of soil and aggregate structures.

Typical applications include soft-ground treatment for highways, railways, airports and wharves, as well as reinforcement of pavements, embankments and riverbanks. It can also be used in landslide and collapse repair works and in reinforcement systems intended to help control soil erosion.

Key Features

High tensile strength

Available tensile grades from 35 to 200 kN/m provide reinforcement for a range of civil-engineering applications.

Controlled elongation

Yield elongation limits are defined for each specification series to control deformation under tensile loading.

Low-strain tensile performance

Tensile-force requirements at 2% and 5% elongation are specified for the available product grades.

Ground reinforcement

Designed for reinforcement of soft ground, pavements, embankments and other soil structures.

Infrastructure applications

Suitable for reinforcement works involving highways, railways, airports, wharves and related civil infrastructure.

Technical Notes

  1. The customer product data provides two technical specification series for polypropylene uniaxially stretched plastic geogrids. Because no further distinction between the two series is stated in the supplied material, they are presented separately without assigning additional product classifications.
  2. Tensile-force values at 2% and 5% elongation are minimum requirements for the corresponding product grade.
  3. Project-specific product selection should be confirmed according to the required tensile grade and design requirements.
